Meet Kayla H!

Meet Kayla Horner

My story consists of homelessness, hopelessness, years of IV use, and many nights spent in a cell. My recovery journey started June 1, 2021 which is also the date of my last release from incarceration. Upon my release, I moved into a recovery house & that was my home for the next 3 years. My time there was spent building a relationship with not only myself, but other women in recovery. They taught me how to be a friend, a sister, a daughter, a parent, and most of all, a woman in recovery. Durning my time in recovery, I have done many things I thought were simply "not in the cards for me."

I became a Certified Peer Support Specialist and have been working in the recovery field since October 2023. I have a passion for helping others gain the tools to obtain a life they also thought was impossible for themselves.
